Founder reflections and crowdfunding

It’s been a bit too long since my last blog post. No excuse. Hands up. Guilty.

In my defence, it’s been a really hectic few months, interjected with a few life challenges that have prolonged the absence. So here I am, on a soggy Friday evening in Nottingham, preparing our new website ahead of launching our first Kickstarter Campaign in the next couple of weeks. Why you may ask? To raise initial funds to start prototyping our designs. Here’s a sneak preview: millie lingerie kickstarter

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been filming, writing content, planning, re-planning, and setting up business essentials like having a bank account. That’s the thing about being the founder of a startup, you have do do pretty much everything for yourself. I stress for yourself, not by yourself, as I am constantly blown away by how much help there is out there for startup businesses like ours. Today I met with an accountant, Barbara, who gave some really great advice on grants, and she summed it up neatly when she said “you have to live and breath your business when you’re starting up“. Wise woman.
So, time for a quick bite to eat, then more work on the website. Wish me luck!
